Dance Talks

Dance talks

Dance Talks are held 45 minutes prior to each performance in the Grand Foyer’s Cullen Alcove at the Wortham Theater Center.

Houston Ballet presents Dance Talks, an opportunity for audience members to meet the dancers, choreographers, and musicians who make the ballet come to life. The audience can also participate in a brief question and answer session which allows them to directly interact with the speakers and learn more about upcoming performances.

"Educational programs and open forums like these between artists and audiences are essential to the developement and understanding of the arts. Dance Talks provide a wonderful opportunity for the audience to meet the dancers, choreographers, and other artists, allowing them to feel connected to the company and to the art," says artistic director Stanton Welch.

Dance Talks are designed to increase the dialogue and further the understanding and appreciation of the art of dance. Past guests have included principal dancers Mireille Hassenboehler and Amy Fote, assistant conductor Ned Battista, and production director Thomas Boyd.
